Revived Surya Haveli Enlivens Jaipur’s Timeless Hospitality
Experience Surya Haveli in Jaipur: a 300-year-old boutique hotel blending heritage with modern luxury. Owned by Madhuvanti Singh, inspired by Amer Fort, and designed by Adil Ahmad, it promises an enchanting hospitality of Rajasthan.
Since 1947, the haveli passed through several families until inherited by Madhuvanti Singh, daughter of Thakur Bhim Singh of Rampura. One evening, while contemplating from the terrace over the aged structure, Madhuvanti resolved to revive its former splendor.
Her vision: “Transform this 300-year-old marvel, bound by tradition rather than cement, into a luxurious boutique hotel inspired by Amer Fort and its grand chambers.” Madhuvanti sought artisans nationwide to preserve Surya Haveli’s original charm, tackling challenges like its unique lime structure and massive stone roof, along with the complex lift installation.

Madhuvanti teamed up with renowned designer Adil Ahmad to create vibrant Rajasthan-inspired interiors at Surya Haveli, featuring bespoke wallpapers and locally sourced custom furniture.
Shikar Bagh is a twin room adorned with hunters-on-horseback wallpaper, evoking Amber’s hunting legacy. Chota Bagh, the smallest room, features a queen bed and floral wallpaper. Surya Haveli features “The Amer Sky Rooftop” with views of fort walls and Jaipur’s oldest mosque. Inside, the Amber Dining Room showcases elephant motif wallpapers, complemented by Surya Chowk’s red and white striped marble flooring and a tranquil fountain, ideal for relaxation.
Nestled within Surya Haveli, Dar-Bar exudes homely charm with tropical green wallpaper and softly diffused light through gentle curtains. This boutique hotel invites guests into a captivating tapestry of prints, inviting exploration and interpretation.
