As India launches its national cotton brand ‘Kasturi’, center exhorts traders not to sideline CCI

Cotton corporation of India (CCI), the largest cotton procurement agency in India has urged traders to not overlook the govt body while buying cotton as it had to incur the  loss in past after offering discount on 2019-2020 stock.
 
Union Textile Minister, Smriti Irani said while launching  India’s first national cotton brand with a vision to create a unique identity for Indian cotton in the global market, ” government is prepared to open 430 procurement centres this season and stares at a bumper cotton production in second consecutive year.” 
 
The new brand ‘Kasturi’ is extra long and more refined with less than 1.7% trash, it’s has a moisture level of up to 8 per cent.
 
CCI has long been holding a huge stock of cotton and upbeat about the demand as the cotton facemasks and linings of other equipment which make use of cotton has increased the demand during the pandemic.
