Charming Mud Architecture Blending Tradition and Modern Design in Raipur
Discover a charming farmhouse in Raipur by Curious Hues, blending modern rustic design with nature. Nestled in the Barnawapara wildlife sanctuary, this mud house features unique elements like a bullock cart wheel and a Champa tree under a rustic skylight—a perfect escape into earthy elegance.
This mud house embraces traditional subcontinental design with its earthy, mud-plastered walls and bamboo flooring. Designers Swanit and Rinku Passary created a warm foyer perfect for enjoying tea on a recycled teak bench. Inside, woven furniture complements the bamboo rafters, while intricate bedroom details add a refined touch, blending rustic charm with modern elegance.
Embodying the idea that “old is the new new,” the designers incorporate mud, dry hay, and split bamboo in this distinctive farmhouse by Curious Hues. They faced challenges sourcing a 12 ft darwaza, salvaged from an old haveli, and collecting tall grass for the thatched roof from a nearby lake. Swanit and Rinku’s innovative approach adds unique charm to the home.
