Elevating Spaces with Design: A New Collection of Heritage-Inspired Carpets

OBEETEE Carpets has launched Viraasat, a stunning new collection that pays tribute to India’s rich cultural heritage. Designed by celebrated artists Anita Dalmia, Anju Modi, Ashdeen Z. Lilaowala, and Tarun Tahiliani, each carpet tells a unique story through intricate patterns and vibrant colors.

Translating to “legacy,” the Viraasat collection reimagines traditional craftsmanship as contemporary masterpieces. Featuring vibrant Pichwai art and intricate motifs, these carpets reflect a timeless Persian elegance and aim to become cherished heirlooms celebrating India’s diverse design narrative.

Inspired by the tales of the Ramayana, the collection beautifully captures the tranquil landscapes of Panchvati and Vrindavan, interwoven with delicate oriental embroidery. “Viraasat is designed to be an enduring treasure, a legacy for future generations,” states Angelique Dhama, President of OBEETEE Carpets.

The carpets embody an evolving identity, serving not just as floor coverings but as striking wall art that boldly declares our heritage. These pieces celebrate artistic strength and cultural narrative. Interestingly, the name OBEETEE is derived from the initials of its three British founders—F.H. Oakley, F.H. Bowden, and J.A.L. Taylor—reflecting a rich history in design.
