Govt to devise plan on tweaking policies to boost 24 key sectors in domestic manufacturing

In order to give a push to manufacturing sector to realise the vision of making India a self-reliant country, as the manufacturing sector contributes about 15 per cent to the country’s economy and the government is aiming to increase it significantly,the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has enumerated 24 key sectors including toys, furniture, textiles, food processing and others with respective ministries asking them to work on an action and incentives they require to stay afloat during rough times.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has sought the responses from each sector through relevant ministries to identify the need of policy tweaking and aid they need, each ministry will bring its own policy on these sectors.

DPIIT is working actively on promoting domestic manufacturing to make india a toy and furniture manufacturing hub.
