In a vibrant Mumbai neighborhood, Studio GaGa has crafted a cozy sanctuary that blends timeless design with local inspirations, creating a serene retreat for family life amid the city’s hustle and bustle.
The design journey began with the homeowner’s midnight orange handbag, inspiring bold yet minimal custom crafts and artwork throughout the interiors. This warm hue influenced the overall palette, leading to the home’s name, “Midnight Orange,” while breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea enhanced the inviting atmosphere.
During the pandemic, the couple’s barebones space revealed what worked for them. Designers Tanvi Gandhi and Pooja Gadhia reconfigured the layout to enhance the sunlit living and dining areas, making the terrace balcony the heart of the home. Fresh indoor plants and repurposed antiques added character while promoting sustainability.

The designers cleverly employ this vibrant color as an accent, balanced by soft furniture curves and lush greenery. Warm wood tones and white-washed walls enhance the inviting atmosphere, while each room showcases this “joyful overdose of orange,” from the matte terracotta kitchen to intricate wall art, creating a harmonious visual flow throughout the space.
The designers aimed for the concept of “you are what you surround yourself with” to be evident in every detail. In the toddler’s room, a nostalgic mural by artist Mahendra Panchal has sparked family rituals, making it a beloved space in their Mumbai home.
With a warm and inviting design that celebrates laughter and play, Studio GaGa has crafted a true sanctuary that fulfills the homeowners’ dreams and more. This artful space beautifully encapsulates the essence of family life, making every moment a cherished memory.
