Need to mull over new foreign trade policy to encourage domestic manufacturers
With the objective of enhancing the export/import performance and boost domestic manufacturing, the Board of Trade (BOT) is holding a meeting chaired by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, which is joined by members from the public and private sector to discuss policy measures related to Foreign Trade Policy.
According to a statement, the meet is likely to address the issues related to investment promotions on Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, trade remedies — recent measures and steps taken, new logistics policy, trade facilitation measures undertaken by customs, trade reforms and Initiatives since last BOT, coverage and expansion of government e-marketplace, and consider various suggestions regarding the policy.
The meeting will be held through video conference, apart from attendees including senior from central ministries and departments, government bodies and state governments, conference will also be joined by the CEO of NITI Aayog and representatives of apex industry bodies and export promotion councils.
