Redefining Luxury Through Artistry and Metal Crafts at Viya Design
Viya Design, established by Vikram Goyal, captivates with its unique blend of nature-inspired artistry and traditional craftsmanship. The studio redefines luxury design through intricate pieces that embody both organic forms and a distinctive gothic aesthetic.
In contrast to human-made creations, nature offers a raw, unrefined beauty that exists without constraints. At Viya the wild charm is celebrated witn the mystery and organic forms of the natural world in each piece we create.
Viya’s design language transforms nature’s abstract forms into crafted metalworks, evoking a mystical and opulent aesthetic. The Kameti lamp draws inspiration from the Himalayas, while the console table reflects the intricate roots of the Banyan tree. The Coonoor table beautifully embodies India’s diverse landscape, using semi-precious stones to capture the deep blues of the ocean and the lush greens of the forests.
Viya’s sensorial pieces showcase the mastery of traditional techniques. Pietra dura, known as Parchin Kari in India, is used to create vibrant inlays reminiscent of Mughal architecture. The ancient art of cane weaving is revitalized into sleek, Forestpunk furniture, while Vikram Goyal’s casting and repoussé methods add rich textures to brass, elevating the design.
Intricate details and unique materiality give Viya’s designs a gothic sensibility, blending naturalism with darker themes.
Meticulous craftsmanship and Vikram’s avant-garde vision contribute to this depth. Through a creative approach to materials, Viya is ushering in a new era of luxury design, rich in character and narrative, establishing a distinctive voice in the design world.
