Meet the maven of academia, Kantha Reddy- An Assistant Vice Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU) who has been molding the design education in the favour of fledgling designers for the last 24 year. His imposing sculptures titled “Iron Beauty” have won the prestigious Lalit Kala Akademi award.

“Iron Beauty” is an 18 feet high bronze sculpture. It represents a human head fixed in an open ironing box. The vertical extensions symbolize the challenges women face in society. Kantha Reddy’s art is inspired by social issues. He believes it is his responsibility to portray them through his work.
