Ensuring last mile delivery in rural India

In order to strengthen the supply chain network in rural area Mahindra Logistics has tied up with 1Bridge, a Bengaluru-based organisation focused at distribution of products in rural regions.They have commenced the pilot project in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu to ensure the delivery of essential goods in the sequestered area.

Demand side of thee supply chain at village level is taken care by 1Bridge through digital platform run by rural preneurs while Mahindra Logistics handles the supply chain management and serves customers from various industries including e-commerce across India.

As of now the model has contributed significantly in rural employment generation with the network penetration in about more 6000 villages across various districts in 6 states. The partners envision to build an efficient last-mile delivery capability covering over 100,000 villages in next three years.
