Global leaders set to rally around at “Davos Agenda” online meet to discuss “Great Reset Initiative” of World Economic Forum

As economies across the globe continue to feel the pressures from the pandemic, the World Economic Forum (WEF) endeavours to bring together global leaders, heads of state and government at five-day online summit termed as “Davos Agenda” which will be running from 25-29 January 2021.

The unprecedented crisis has made it quite evident that no institution or individual alone can address the economic, environmental, social and technological challenges that almost all the world economies are faced with.

The agenda will mark the WEF’ s “Great Reset Initiative” ahead of a special annual meeting which has already been shifted to May 2021. The event may be seen as a pioneering mobilization of global leaders to shape the principles, policies and partnerships needed in this challenging new context. It is essential for leaders from all walks of life to work together virtually for a more inclusive, cohesive and sustainable future as soon as possible in 2021.

WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab asserted,” Leaders must come together for decisive and inclusive action as 2021 is a crucial year to rebuild trust. The world is at a crossroads. The pandemic has reversed important gains in the global fight against unemployment, climate change and poverty.”

Schwab in an interview with PTI said, ” the early policy response in India to mitigate the impact of the pandemic was strong; from an early lockdown, to large-scale food rations to over 800 million people risking starvation, to collateral-free credit for small businesses.”

“A stronger and more equal nation, the world will watch it for inspiration. With its demographic advantage and extensive diversity, India has the power to shape the global agenda and define our collective future,” he added.
