About the Workshop

Mostly done by the village ladies from Kutch, Gujarat inhabiting bleak and harsh environment, Lippan art is traditionally made with mud, cow dung and mirror to embellish the walls of their humble dwellings but in contemporary decor and home furnishing, POP, fevicol, & white acrylic color come handy to create the paste and mould a range of alluring designs.

The workshop will be held on Google Meet. Step by step demonstration will be given

Day 1 you’ll learn:
– History and intro of the Lippan Art.
how to draw and make designs.
– How to do Lippan work using clay.

Day 2 you’ll learn:
– How to fill colours in the artwork.
– Mirror composition & pasting.

Materials Required

An MBA graduate, Nidhi Desai is a self taught Artist, Art Educator and Wall Muralist, who has been working with interior designers and architects in cities like Surat, Pune, Delhi, Mumbai & Ahemdabad, creating all range Lippan wall art upto 10ft size. Also she has been practicing various other artforms of Indian folk arts for 7 years now.
