With Veneer walls, Tanjore painting and Wooden Beams, the Mumbai home is a repertory of Indian Crafts

From the cozy dining area and Godfather-inspired study to the individually styled bedrooms, the Arabian Sea facing abode home designed by the Peacock Life exemplifies cohesive design blending modern interpretations of Indian craftsmanship with bespoke artworks.

As per Shabnam Gupta, Founder of Peacock Life, Clients familiarity with Peacock Life set a promising foundation for our collaboration. As we delved into the project, I discovered the remarkable scale and found synergy in our shared design sensibilities.

The essence of Shabnam Gupta’s design philosophy through a stunning 7,700 sq ft Mumbai duplex overlooking the Arabian Sea. Discover how her skillful blend of cultures, traditions, and craftsmanship creates timeless, inviting spaces that celebrities and families alike cherish as havens of comfort and charm.

The mirror, mirror lights, and wooden candle stands grace the space from Peacock Life, while the elegant brass pedestal hails from Natural Interio Stone’s World. Completing the scene is a luxurious rug sourced from Jaipur Rugs, adding a touch of warmth and sophistication to the space.

The interiors are marked by expansive scale, meticulous detailing, and a keen design sensibility. The home’s entrance, adorned with the striking Garuda, sets a dramatic tone, hinting at the craftsmanship and intrigue within. The lobby continues this narrative with thoughtful elements like chequered tiles and a gracefully low-hanging chandelier, creating an ethereal ambiance.

“In one powder bathroom, charcoal paint meets Thikri work from Rajasthan, reinterpreted in a contemporary manner to evoke a starlit night sky. The other bathroom is adorned with thick, intricately carved marble slabs, inspired by the elegant form of a lotus,” describes Shabnam, detailing her creative approach to both spaces.
